Pre vedeck\u00e9 publik\u00e1cie je pr\u00edzna\u010dn\u00e9, \u017ee prezentovan\u00e9 inform\u00e1cie musia umo\u017e\u0148ova\u0165 reprodukovate\u013enos\u0165 v\u00fdsledkov v\u00fdskumu in\u00fdmi v\u00fdskumn\u00edkmi. Pre v\u00fdskum \u017eiv\u00fdch organizmov je d\u00f4le\u017eit\u00e9 spr\u00e1vne ich zaradi\u0165 do syst\u00e9mu organizmov (tax\u00f3nov), ako to za\u010dal Karl von Linn\u00e9 v\u00a018. storo\u010d\u00ed. Tieto s\u00fa v\u0161ak prirodzen\u00e9, ke\u010f\u017ee taxon\u00f3mii sa venuje st\u00e1le men\u0161ia skupina biol\u00f3gov, ktor\u00ed sa, objavuj\u00fac nov\u00e9 druhy organizmov, odvol\u00e1vaj\u00fa na svoje predo\u0161l\u00e9 publik\u00e1cie. Vznik\u00e1 tak \u0161pir\u00e1la, ktor\u00e1 vedie k\u00a0z\u00e1niku taxonomick\u00fdch \u010dasopisov a\u00a0skupiny taxonomistov, bez ktor\u00fdch remeslo spo\u013eahliv\u00e9ho rozli\u0161ovania organizmov m\u00f4\u017ee vymrie\u0165. To boli d\u00f4vody skupiny 18 svetov\u00fdch odborn\u00edkov taxon\u00f3mie z\u00a05 kraj\u00edn k\u00a0nap\u00edsaniu v\u00fdzvy glob\u00e1lnej vedeckej komunite, publikovanej prest\u00ed\u017enym \u010dasopisom Nature Ecology & Evolution<\/a>, ktor\u00fa podpismi podporilo \u010fal\u0161\u00edch vy\u0161e 1300 vedcov.
