The researchers of the project Automation of legal text analysis based on machine learning supported within the framework of the Recovery and Resilience Plan of the Slovak Republic (Call 09I05-03-V02 – Call for support for research projects aimed at digitalization of the economy in TRL levels 1-3) met at the beginning of February at the Faculty of Science for an introductory meeting.

The project builds on the previous research projects by an interdisciplinary team from the Institute of Informatics, Faculty of Sciences and the Department of Business Law and Economic Law, Faculty of Law and members of the project consortium include a team from the Faculty of Law of Comenius University in Bratislava and the publishing house Wolters Kluwer.

The main objective of the project is to efficiently process and analyse legal texts in order to ensure legal certainty and improve access for professionals and the general public to legal texts, the results of their analysis and the relevant legal information extracted from them.

The relevance of this objective is demonstrated by the development and implementation of new methods for analysing legal texts (data analysis and machine learning) that enable the required transition to the digital economy also in the field of law, both in the context of the application of law by the State (legislators, policy makers, courts or other competent authorities) and in the context of the provision of legal services by professionals to their beneficiaries.
