
Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice became the principal investigator of a project funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan of Slovakia in the call “Support for research projects aimed to digitalise the economy in TRL 1-3.”
The project, entitled “App Driven Multisensor Solution: Bridging Sensors to Digits” (acronym S2D App), deals with the basic research aimed at development of a multisensor which together with a software application represents a groundbreaking method for patient self-diagnosis. In total, 57 projects were supported in this call, with the S2DApp project ranking 14th, receiving funding of 995 004,19 €.
The project will be implemented and managed by a research team from the Department of Physical Chemistry at the Institute of Chemical Sciences, Faculty of Science, Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice. This team is responsible for the development and optimization of the multisensor as a fast, simple, and cost-effective diagnostic tool. The project’s partner is one of the leading IT companies – Deutsche Telekom IT Solutions Slovakia (DTITSSK), represented primarily by researchers from its Innovlab startup center, whose main task is to ensure the development of a secure and user-friendly software application.

On February 12, 2025, the first meeting (kick-off meeting) took place at Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice. During this meeting, the project’s timeline and budget were presented, and specific tasks were assigned to individual team members.
The project, with a total budget of 995 004,19 €, will be implemented over a period of 18 months, from January 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026.
