Physicists of Košice from Institute of Experimental Physics SAS and Faculty of Science of Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in the field of Low-T emperature Physics have achieved excellent results in the long term. The latest success of the joint low-temperature workplace of the IoEP SAS and FoS UPJŠ in Košice, the "Košice" Center for Low Temperature Physics (CFNT), is the approval of financing of the European Microkelvin Platform (EMP) project in amount 10 million EURO.

At its 109th Session, the Accreditation Commission assessed the creative activity of top teams accepted in the first Call after three years of their work. The top teams of QMAGNA and Bioaktiv, representing the Faculty of Sciences of Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice, successfully passed the reevaluation.

The will be held from May 26th to June 1st 2014 at the Department of Biophysics, Institute of Computer Science, P.J. Šafárik University in Košice. The workshop is organized in a cooperation with the International Laser Center. More details can be found at the web page of the doctoral school.

At the end of 2018, Springer published the monograph “Cave Ecology“, which had prof. Mgr. Ľubomír Kováč, CSc. from the Institute of Biology and Ecology as its co-editor.

In the first school week, the fourth of the seven regional tournaments of the largest international robotic competition for children and youth from 9 to 16 years took place. After Banska Bystrica, Poprad and Žilina, the FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL) took place on January 10, 2019 in the Kasár / Kulturpark area in Košice.

The Nobel prize, the most prestigious scientific award is being given away every year for a significant or ground-breaking research, technical invention or for a contribution for the humankind in Physics, Chemistry, Medicine, literature or in fight for peace.

The Department of Genetics of the Institute of Biology and Ecology at the Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice commemorated this years 50th anniversary of the institutionalization of genetics at the Faculty of Sience, P.J.Šafárik University in Košice.
