On 22-23 January, 2024 representatives of the consortia partners of the prestigious AI-BOOST project – Artificial Intelligence for Better Opportunities and Scientific Progress towards a Trustworthy and Human-centric Digital Environment – met at the EIT Digital premises in Brussels for the first working meeting. The project aims to implement EU-funded open calls that will serve as a benchmark for the European Artificial Intelligence (AI) community.

The work programme of the kick-off meeting was focused on the detailed preparation of the organisation and the course of the project activities.
In particular, the currently open AI-Boost Large AI Grand Challenge was discussed, which aims to support the development of large language models in Europe, to intensify European research in this field and to strengthen professional capacities. The call is open until 13 February and is open to innovative start-ups and SMEs proposing large-scale AI models that will give Europe a competitive advantage. More about the call
In connection with the preparation of topics for the next planned open calls, a workshop was held with representatives of other stakeholders: Adra – the European AI-Data-Robotics Association, BDVA – Big Data Value Association, European DIGITAL SME Alliance, EuroHPC Joint Undertaking.
