A symposium on protein stability and folding was organized in Hohenkammer and Garching b. München between 22 and 26 May 2022. In Hohenkammer, in total, 36 talks devoted to current challenges and hot topics in protein science, mainly to forces in biomolecular systems, were presented by invited principal investigators (PI), postdocs and PhD students. Especially, each of the 12 PIs provided unique expertise and viewpoints on different aspects of biomolecules and their super assemblies, whereas a combination of the presented experimental and theoretical approaches demonstrated a high level of synergy. After the first part of the symposium, the event moved to Garching, to the Center for Protein Assembly, where it continued with the introduction of laboratories of the Center and those in Košice.
The CasProt project was presented by project coordinator Assoc. prof. Erik Sedlák, co-investigator prof. Matthias Rief, as well as senior researchers Dr. Abhigyan Sengupta and Assoc. prof. Gabriel Žoldák and three PhD Students from UPJŠ in Košice: Veronika Dzurillová, Kristína Felčíková and Michal Gala.

The symposium undoubtedly helped to focus on specific big questions that the protein community is currently discussing and, thus, to achieve more effectively goals defined within the CasProt project. Besides, during the symposium, a new collaboration was established with prof—Martin Zacharias regarding the availability of their computing time at their high-performance cluster.
