The team of the Center for Interdisciplinary Biosciences (CIB) led by Assoc. Prof. Erik Sedlák, DrSc. was nominated for the Košice Region Innovation Awards 2023 in cooperation with the Košice Self-governing Region and the founding partners of the association in the category of the best Scientist/Scientific team of the Košice Region. CIB was nominated for the mentioned award for its excellent publication activity and grant success in the field of European projects as well as structural fund projects, which enables CIB scientists to educate a new generation of scientists and carry out research with benefits not only for eastern Slovakia.
The UPJŠ rector’s award was presented to the CIB team by Prof. Pavol Sovák, CSc. during the gala evening under the name Košice Region Innovation Awards 2023, which took place on May 3, 2023, in the Hall of Art (also known as the Kunsthalle) in Košice.
It was the first year of this type of gala evening, the ambition of which is to highlight individuals and/or organizations that significantly increase the innovation potential of the Košice Region and thereby contribute to improving the living conditions of its residents.
