On September 8th, Associate Professor Gabriel Žoldák, Chief Technology Officer at the Center for Interdisciplinary Biosciences of the Cassovia New Industry Cluster, successfully defended his dissertation thesis “Study of energy minima and barriers of protein conformational space” in the field of Biophysics. The field of protein research is extremely well established within CIB TIP-UPJŠ, one of the most modern workplaces of its kind in Slovakia, with the researchers considered top experts at home and abroad.
„Biophysics, as part of the interdisciplinary life sciences, provides tremendous tools and fantastic technologies for uncovering and understanding the molecular mechanisms of diseases. It was the expansion of the horizons of basic knowledge with the support of developed tools and technology that led, among other things, to the development and application of new biotherapeutic proteins used in the treatment of serious diseases. Nowadays, sophisticated nanomachines are being developed thanks to advances in molecular biophysics, which are the basis for their future application in biomedicine,” said Gabriel Žoldák.
