MATEO G. & CRESPO M. B. (1993):<\/strong> New data on nothotaxa of Thymus L. in northeastern Spain. \u2013 Thaiszia, Ko\u0161ice 3: 3-11. \u2013 ISSN 1210-0420.
ABSTRACT: A revision of nothotaxa of Thymus L. (Lamiaceae) growing in the mountain range called Sistema Ib\u00e9rico (northeastern Spain) is given. Fourteen nothospecies are accepted to occur in this territory, two of them being described as new: Thymus x bonichensis, nothosp. nov., and Th. x borzygis, nothosp. nov. Besides, the protologue is gummanized for each one, and a diagram showing all relationships among them is also presented.

KIRSCHNER J. & \u0160T\u011aP\u00c1NEK J. (1993):<\/strong> Taraxacum sect. Palustria (Compositae) in Bulgaria. – Thaiszia, Ko\u0161ice, 3: 13-29. \u2013 ISSN 1210-0420.
ABSTRACT:A taxonomic survey of Taraxacum WIGG. sect. Palustria (Compositae) in Bulgaria is provided. Four species known from Greece were found to occur in Bulgaria as well, viz. T. scaturiginosum HAGL., T. refectum SONCK, T. apiculatoides MALECKA and T. insolitum KIRSCHNER, SONCK et STEP\u00c1NEK. Four additional species are described: T. turfosiforme, a relatively isolated species, T. glaucolivaceum and T. sophiae of the group of T. subolivaceum SONCK and T. arachnoideum KIRSCHNER & STEP\u00c1NEK, and T. subudum, a species close to the T. vindobonense and T. scaturiginosum groups. Chromosome numbers are given for most taxa studied.

MIKOL\u00c1\u0160 V. & MIHOKOV\u00c1 L. (1993):<\/strong> Synanthropic occurrence of Taraxacum bessarabicum (Hornem.) Hand.-Mazz. in Ko\u0161ice, Eastern Slovakia. – Thaiszia, Kosice, 3: 31-52. \u2013 ISSN 1210-0420.
ABSTRACT: Taraxacum bessarabicum is a species with wide area, limited to subhalophyte and halophyte plant communities from France to NW. China and NE. Mongolia. On the territory of Slovakia, its occurrence is concentrated to the southern part, which forms northern extension of its distribution in the Pannonian Basin. A new finding comes from the Kosice Basin, were it grows as a synanthropic species. Its variability is briefly analysed and the karyology of the species studied as well. On its new habitat studied it behaves as an epekophyte growing always within the reach of magnesite pollution on antropogenous soils usually without vegetation or with loosen plant cover, which is represented by degradation stages of various synanthrope communities convergating under the influence of decisive factor – magnesite pollution. Its behaviour is compared with that of Puccinellia distans, very aggressive species, which belongs to the most expansive species on certain synanthropic habitats and with which T. bessarabicum often grows together.

Present taxonomic problems are considered and lines of research suggested.

ZAVADA M. S. (1993):<\/strong> The historical use of Henna (Lawsonia inermis L.) in the Balkans. – Thaiszia, Ko\u0161ice, 3: 97-100. \u2013 ISSN 1210-0420.
ABSTRACT: Henna was used medicinally and cosmetically by the classical greeks as early as 1500-1400 BC. Henna does not occur naturally in the balkans and was imported from the mideast and North Africa. The slavs, after their arrival in the balkans in the 6th or 7th century AD, were probably introduced to the use of henna by Christian missionaries and Arabian merchants and the plant was later incorporated into the South slavic pharmacopeia during the Ottoman occupation of the Balkans. Written accounts describe the use of henna medicinally and cosmetically by the balkan slavs during the early part of the 20th century, however, presently henna is exclusively used as a hair dye.

ABSTRACT: The communities of the Trifolio-Geranietea as ecotonic phytocoenoses are present on various substrata (such as Tertiary igneous rocks, limestones, loess clays and sands), and more frequently in the areas where the parent rock mounts the surface on the shallow or profound soils. We studied the communities of the Trifolion medii TH. M\u00dcLLER 1961 and Geranion sanguinei TX. in M\u00dcLLER 1961.
