Research at the Institute of Pharmacology is focused on addressing some of the issues related to the therapy of oncological diseases, including resistance to anticancer drugs and the study of new, potentially anticancer drugs from naturally occurring substances. Through a relatively new issue reasearched at this Institute it becomes possible to influence the angiogenesis as one of the possible targets of the effect of anticancer agents. The study of gene polymorphisms is still another area of research with regard to incidence and therapy of tumors. In collaboration with clinical departments, we provide imunophenotypic and cytogenetic analysis of haematooncological diseases.<\/p>\n

In the educational field, the staff of the Institute of Pharmacology provides teaching of Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacology for the Bachelor, doctoral, and PhD students of the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Science in both Slovak and English languages.<\/p>\n
