Among the awarded persons were two employees of our Faculty and a team of students, to whom the awards were presented by the Mayor Jaroslav Pola\u010dek.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center\"><em><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.upjs.sk\/app\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2022\/09\/3-14.jpg\" style=\"height:253px; width:350px\" \/><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The most prestigious award &#8211; T<strong>HE AWARD OF THE CITY OF KO\u0160ICE 2021<\/strong> awarded by the City Council was taken over by the Vice-Rector of UPJ\u0160 and the Head of the Department of Infectology and Travel Medicine, FM UPJ \u0160 and UNLP <strong>prof. Pavol Jar\u010du\u0161ka, M.D., PhD<\/strong>. He was awarded for active involvement and coordination of procedures in the fight against the pandemic of the new coronavirus at the regional, national, and European level and media presentation of related expert opinions to the public.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.upjs.sk\/app\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2022\/09\/4vymena.jpg\" style=\"height:249px; width:350px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<strong>THE AWARD OF THE MAYOR OF KO\u0160ICE 2021<\/strong> was awarded to <strong>assoc. prof. Veronika Vargov\u00e1, M.D., PhD.,<\/strong> the Head of the Department of Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, FM UPJ\u0160 and ChUH in Ko\u0161ice for extraordinary activity, extensive pedagogical activity, and contribution in the management of this highly specialized workplace, which is the largest in the East Slovakia region.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.upjs.sk\/app\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2022\/09\/5-11.jpg\" style=\"height:233px; width:350px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<strong>THE AWARD OF THE MAYOR OF KO\u0160ICE 2021<\/strong> was also awarded to the <strong>team of students of the FM UPJ\u0160<\/strong> for exemplary, unselfish, and sacrificial help, especially in the field of laboratory diagnostics, demonstrated during the period of the COVID-19 pandemic.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The Award was taken over by Ester Tomajkov\u00e1, the student coordinator for assistance to hospitals in East Slovakia.<br \/>\n<em>\u00a0 \u00a0 Congratulations!<\/em><br \/>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The award ceremony took place in the Ko\u0161ice Historical Town Hall on Friday, November 12, 2021.
