The Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice organized three-day testing for COVID-19 for the employees, their family members, and students in the premises of the Faculty of Medicine, UPJŠ from October 30, 2020, to November 1, 2020. There were tested about 2,500 people, of whom five hundred were international students.
“Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice has decided to organize testing of its employees and students as a part of nationwide testing by antigen rapid tests in Slovakia. The organization of this testing was a matter of responsibility of the university towards its employees and students, who could be tested without stress and very quickly in a familiar environment thanks to good logistics because we logistically prepared excellent conditions for testing at the Faculty of Medicine,” says the Vice-Rector of UPJŠ prof. Pavol Jarčuška, M.D., Ph.D., who is also the Head of the Department of Infectology and Travel Medicine, FM UPJŠ and UNLP Košice and a member of the Central Crisis Staff of the Slovak Republic. The Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, UPJŠ, and the Head of the Department of Epidemiology prof. Monika Halánová, D.V.M., Ph.D., who was the professional supervisor of the three-day testing at the UPJŠ, expressed great satisfaction with the course of this testing.

Our team worked really well and we are pleased with many positive reactions of the tested persons. The employees and students appreciated not only the speed and smoothness of testing but also the very well set up safety measures that we had”, she emphasizes.
