The clinical workplace has seen significant progress in the field of curative-preventive care in gynaecology and obstetrics, especially over the last 15 years, and has become an important provider of this care not only in the relevant catchment area, but also in the wider region.
In gynaecology, in addition to standard curative and preventive care, the clinic is gradually becoming a leading endoscopy center in the region providing a wide range of mini-invasive gynaecological surgical procedures. The spectrum of laparoscopic procedures is expanding not only for benign conditions, but also for some oncogynaecological surgical indications. The number of hysteroscopic procedures is increasing, not only diagnostic, but also hysteroresectoscopy. At the same time, diagnostic treatment procedures related to pelvic floor disorders are being developed. From September 2024, we have expanded the spectrum of surgical procedures to include robotically assisted gynaecological surgeries – hysterectomies and myomectomies. It was our clinic that successfully introduced robotic surgery in gynaecology in eastern Slovakia, thanks to which we became a leader in the field of innovative patient care.
The obstetrical part of the clinic deals with physiological and pathological conditions during pregnancy, during childbirth and in the six-month period. Part of the clinic is an ultrasound workplace, which implements modern procedures related to advanced prenatal diagnostics. The clinic is a leader in the diagnosis and therapy of hypertensive diseases in pregnancy. We are constantly trying to advance in the procedures of modern perinatology and provide patients with the greatest possible comfort during childbirth, whether by choosing a birthing position, rebozo wrapping, and the like. A novelty at the clinic was the possibility of the presence of an accompanying person during cesarean delivery, or performing an external rotation in the case of an unfavorable obstetrical position of the fetus.
