Department of Nursing Care

Department of Nursing Care provides pedagogical, scientific research activities. Employees of the institute participate in the pregraduate study of bachelor and doctor degree study.

Their teaching approach to study programs of nursing is very complex and the staff also takes part in teaching the subjects like Physiotherapy study program and Public Health. Department of Nursing provides students with study programs of General Medicine and Dental Medicine in Slovak and English languages. Also implementation of training nurses in particular areas, anesthesiology, intensive care, intensive nursing care of adults, is the part of the pedagogical activity.

Implementation of IT and simulation methods into process of teaching in the study programs plays the important role in education process that is in line with modern concepts of teaching.

Department of Nursing Care demonstrates its pedagogical, scientific research activity by participating in grants EÚ, VEGA, KEGA a APPV. The research part focuses mainly on analyzing factors regarding the work performance of nurse (stress, burnout, job satisfaction, etc.) and also on particular areas providing the nursing care in primary, secondary and consecutive health care (quality of nursing care, safety of patients, quality life of patients with chronic disease, health education, etc.)
