On Sunday, May 7, 2023, six exceptional teams and 21 individuals developing activities for the benefit of Košice and its inhabitants were awarded during a ceremony in the Historical Town Hall Košice, where they received significant city awards from the hands of the Mayor of Košice Jaroslav Polaček: the Košice City Awards, or Awards and Plaques of the Mayor of Košice.
The most prestigious award – the KOŠICE CITY AWARD granted by the Košice City Council – was awarded to the Dean of the Faculty, UPJŠ, the Head of the II. Department of Internal Medicine FM UPJŠ and UNLP, a leading expert in the field of internal medicine and hepatology, a renowned university lecturer, and the author of many scientific works, prof. Peter Jarčuška, M.D., PhD. Congratulations!
As Prof. Peter Jarčuška stated in connection with the award, he considers medicine to be a noble profession, “thanks to which we can help people and influence the quality of their lives. That is why I chose this path. When you are appreciated by the Mayor and the City Council, it is an honor not only for me but also for all the people who live and work with me. I am proud of my beautiful hometown, where I have lived all my life.”
