The Head of the Department of Health Psychology and Research Methodology FM UPJŠ Andrea Madarasová Gecková met with the President of the Slovak Republic Zuzana Čaputová at the Festival for the Soul on Thursday, April 15, 2021, in Bratislava. She submitted to the President the National Report on the Health and Health Behavior in School-aged Children in their social context (HBSC study) as well as a report from the Care4Youth study on the care system for children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral problems.
The Department of Health Psychology and Research Methodology FM UPJŠ led by prof. Mgr. Andrea Madarasová Gecková, PhD. has played a significant role in the elaboration of these studies.
The Health Behavior in School-aged Children (HBSC) study is a nationally representative study conducted in collaboration with the World Health Organization in 50 countries in Europe and North America to monitor the health and health behavior of school-aged children in their social context.
The Care4Youth study focuses on mapping the care system for adolescents with emotional and behavioral problems to identify its deficiencies and, together with those concerned (adolescents with problems, their parents, and care providers), to look for ways to improve the existing system for the benefit of all involved.
The Festival for the Soul aimed to introduce the importance of mental health and to give advice and recommendations from experts on how to experience the current situation in a good mental condition to the general public to. President Zuzana Čaputová accepted the invitation to this event and was also a direct participant in one of the discussions.
