Medical student Ivana Ligusová was elected as EDSA President-Elect

    For the first time in history, the Slovak  – Ivana Ligusová, a student of our Faculty will head the European Dental Students’ Association. Congratulations!  
    The European Dental Students ‘Association (EDSA) is a non-governmental organization based at ACTA University in Amsterdam with a history of more than thirty years, representing about 70,000 dental students from 31 European countries. The election for its president is announced annually, and no student from Slovakia has held this position yet. However, this will change, because, the delegates elected our student Ivana Ligusová (Dental Medicine, 6th year) from among the three candidates for this position at the online general meeting on April 24, 2021. Ivana Ligusová has been serving in the Slovak Dental Students’ Association since 2016, which is a member of the EDSA. She joined the EDSA Presidium two years ago as the Vice- President for Public Relations and Editor-in-Chief of EDSA Magazine. She currently serves on the EDSA Board of Directors as the General Secretary and the  President-Elect.
    “I will be President-Elect for almost four months, during which I will get to know important EDSA partners through video calls and plan the exact agenda that we will follow in the academic year  2021/2022. I will take over the position of President on August 25,  2021, at the summer EDSA meeting, which, thanks to the activity of our students, will take place in Košice at the FM UPJŠ. I am very grateful to the Faculty Board for supporting the students’ activity in the associations. At the moment, we are two Slovaks in the EDSA Presidium – together with my colleague Marcel Paľovčík,”  says Ivana Ligusová.
