The Department of Infectology and Travel Medicine was honored with the Košice Self-governing Region Award

    The collective of employees of the Department of Infectology and Travel Medicine, FM UPJŠ received the Košice Self-governing Region Award for the provision of health care to patients during the COVID-19 pandemic.
    The award ceremony took place at the State Theatre in Košice on Saturday 23 April 2022. The most prestigious of them – the Košice Self-governing Region Award – was handed over by the President of the Košice Self-Governing Region Rastislav Trnka to the Head of the Department of Infectology and Travel Medicine, UPJŠ FM, and UNLP prof. Pavol Jarčuška, M.D., PhD. Congratulations!
    Since the outbreak of the pandemic, the Department of Infectology and Travel Medicine has been one of the busiest workplaces in medical facilities in Slovakia and its employees saved hundreds of lives during the pandemic. They have provided highly professional health care to thousands of patients in extremely difficult, stressful, and challenging conditions and have helped in the testing of the population of Košice and eastern Slovakia for COVID-19.
