On Monday, March 6, 2023, the fifth year and eighth semester students received their certificates from the course Skills for Success – from University to Workplace, which is administered as a compulsory elective subject by the Department of British and American Studies FF UPJŠ in cooperation with partner companies associated with the BSCF American Chamber of Commerce in Slovakia. Students can effectively use the acquired knowledge and practical experience in the field of soft skills when looking for work on the domestic and foreign labour markets. Certificates are accepted by all partners in BSCF, they serve as a guarantee of the quality of acquired skills and are a unique working currency in the whole of Slovakia, since the program only runs at a few universities. The BAS Department, among others, with this program succeeds in fulfilling the goal of providing its graduates with not only a high-quality diploma, but also a high-quality first employment contract.
Certificates of the American Chamber of Commerce in Slovakia were also received by three students of BAS FF UPJŠ, who provided their acquired translation and interpreting knowledge and skills in practice, as part of the AmCham project for Ukrainian women looking for work on the Slovak labour market.
