It is always a pleasure and a wonderful opportunity to meet former colleagues and graduates of our department. This year, we would like to express our gratitude to Ing. Slávka Šimková, PhD., our former colleague, and Mgr. Monika Chlapečková, our Alumna and a graduate of study program the English Language for European Institutions and Economy, who took time out of their busy schedules and shared their experiences with our undergraduates. Both presentations offered a wonderful insight into possible career paths that can wait for our students too and equipped our undergraduates with valuable knowledge to succeed in the job markets.
Career and Club Weeks are important events to us, and we always try our best to invite interesting speakers who could complete and enrich the learning experiences of our students. This year Mr. Joey Briant, a Fulbright scholar and TEFL specialist currently positioned in Bulgaria, visited our department, and spoke about the advantages and drawbacks of CHAT GPT in pedagogy. This workshop was attended also by some of our English Language Club members.
The paramount of the series of events was the presentation of Mr. Stephen Travis Sholl, head of international communications at Mathias Corvinus Collegium in Budapest, who spoke about the historical roots of social and political division of the US.
We believe that our guests, students, and colleagues had a wonderful opportunity to spend the last week of the semester at invaluable educational events.
We would like to thank everyone who joined the events and particularly those who contributed to the organization of the 2024 May Career and Club Week!
