On 8 October 2019, the Department of British and American Studies FF UPJŠ had the opportunity to host the meeting co-organized by the Slovak Fulbright Alumni Association represented by Ms. Alena Vachnová, its Board Member, and the Embassy of the USA in Bratislava represented by Ms. Adriana Volentová, the Academic Exchanges and Alumni Coordinator at the US Embassy.
Hubert Humphrey Fellows – Ms. Laura Dittel, Ms. Alena Vachnová and Mr. Július Rozenfeld – together with the Alumni of the Visitor Leadership Program – Ms. Zuzana Buráková – shared their professional and personal experiences with the audience from the UPJŠ but also guests from outside the UPJŠ. The participants of the event got detailed information about various programmes, their selection criteria, preparation and implementation of the visits and much more than that, for instance, discussion with Ms. Martina Jesenská, the InfoUSA coordinator, a member of the Slovak Fulbright Alumni Association and the BAS Department graduate.
We hope that on the basis of this successful event the BAS Department will be able to broaden its cooperation with the Fulbright Commission and the Slovak Fulbright Alumni Association and that our colleagues and students will join the growing numbers of the successful applicants in various American exchange programmes from our region.
