{"id":41259,"date":"2021-04-23T09:48:15","date_gmt":"2021-04-23T08:48:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.upjs.sk\/internal-quality-assurance-and-verification-system-kat_id-2280\/quality-culture-kat_id-2830\/"},"modified":"2023-02-06T11:18:06","modified_gmt":"2023-02-06T10:18:06","slug":"culture","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.upjs.sk\/en\/internal-system-evaluation-quality\/culture\/","title":{"rendered":"Quality culture"},"content":{"rendered":"<table style=\"width: 100%;\" border=\"0\" cellspacing=\"1\" cellpadding=\"1\" align=\"center\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"text-align: right;\"><span style=\"color: #000066;\"><em><strong>\u201eAnticipate the need for change and make it in time, <\/strong><\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000066;\"><em><strong>is the key to advancing the university .&#8221;<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p>The quality culture at UPJ\u0160 is expressed by the vision, values and constant support of the university management to the process of improvement.<\/p>\n<p>The quality culture is embodied in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.upjs.sk\/public\/media\/2062\/long-term-strategy-of-upjs-2020-2025.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">strategic goals<\/a>, the fulfillment of which is monitored by monitoring selected indicators of group and individual performance.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The quality culture at UPJ\u0160 is based on:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">European Standards and Guidelines, ESG<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.slov-lex.sk\/static\/pdf\/2002\/131\/ZZ_2002_131_20210401.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Act no. 131\/2002 Coll.<\/a> on Higher Education Institutions and on Amendments to Certain Acts<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.slov-lex.sk\/static\/pdf\/2018\/269\/ZZ_2018_269.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Act no. 269\/2018 Coll.<\/a> on quality assurance in higher education<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/saavs.sk\/en\/standards\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">standards<\/a> of the Slovak Accreditation Agency for Higher Education,<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">criteria of credit rating agencies,<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">guidelines governing the implementation of the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The importance of quality culture for UPJ\u0160 is anchored in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.upjs.sk\/public\/media\/2062\/statute-of-upjs-2021.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Statute of UPJ\u0160<\/a>. Basic principles, processes and tools of quality culture management are defined by the <a href=\"https:\/\/intranet.upjs.sk\/op\/op.Public.php?documentid=5890\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rules of the Internal Quality Assurance and Verification System<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The basis for ensuring a quality culture at UPJ\u0160 is the synergistic functioning of educational activities, creative activities and all supporting activities at the university level.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" style=\"width: 30%;\" src=\"\/app\/uploads\/2023\/02\/vsk-kultura-kvality.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><span style=\"color: #996633;\">UNIVERSITY MISSION<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<table style=\"width: 100%;\" border=\"0\" cellspacing=\"1\" cellpadding=\"1\" align=\"center\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"text-align: right;\"><span style=\"color: #000066;\"><strong><em>\u201eIn order for UPJ\u0160 to be a modern and internationally established institution,<br \/>\nit must constantly look for ways to develop<br \/>\nits personal and scientific potential.\u201c<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The main mission of UPJ\u0160 is to provide three-level higher education on the basis of the latest scientific knowledge in a broad international context, in accordance with European trends in this field, the Bologna Declaration and other documents.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">UPJ\u0160 declares itself the status of a research university at which internationally recognized scientific research is carried out, which is competitive in both domestic and foreign research environments. UPJ\u0160 is involved in the European Research Area by obtaining international scientific projects or bilateral and intergovernmental agreements on cooperation and participation in European research consortia. Thanks to this, UPJ\u0160 is one of the important and recognized educational and scientific institutions not only in the Slovak Republic, but also in developed Europe.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">UPJ\u0160 wants to strengthen its position as a major university, it wants to become a sought-after research partner in Europe, it wants to be an attractive educational place for domestic and foreign students, it wants to increase its influence on economic and social processes not only in Ko\u0161ice, Ko\u0161ice region, but also in Slovakia.
