Dr. R. Tarasenko devotes his research activities to the preparation, characterization, and study of magnetic properties of low-dimensional magnetic systems, such as organometallic quasi-two-dimensional quantum antiferromagnets based on Cu(II) ions. He studies the influence of spatial and spin anisotropy on the character of the ground state of studied systems [R. Tarasenko et al., Phys. Rev. B 87 (2013) 174401]. He also contributes to experimental studies of the compounds with giant magnetocaloric effect, in which the release or absorption of energy is observed when the external magnetic field changes (Fig. 5) [F. S. Guo et al., Chem. – Eur. J. 19 (2013) 14876].
