About the team
The team Bioactiv which is composed of two complementary scientific groups has started to form consecutively after 1990. The team is concerned with a complex scientific problem starting with identification of candidate genes coding for the key enzymes involved in biosynthesis of bioactive secondary metabolites in the genus Hypericum and continuing with the studies of mechanisms of their action in the target cancer cells. While the first direction has an ambition to result prospectively in design of biotechnological alternative of their production, the second one is pointed at prospective application in diagnostics and therapy of some types of cancer.
