I am a foreign student and I want to travel abroad, do I have to stay in quarantine after returning to Slovakia? Updated: 26.3.2020
Decisions related to the coronavirus epidemic are no longer just a matter of our university, but are taken at national and international level. Please understand that it is not our faculty who prohibit or permit something. The situation is also constantly changing from day to day or from hour to hour, it is difficult to predict developments.
We can assure the students that they will not be penalized by the faculty, but please keep in mind the restrictions given by the state: we have closed borders for the arrival of foreigners and we have a mandatory quarantine 14 days after arriving in Slovakia. Nobody knows how long the restrictions will last. The final decision is only up to the students. At the same time, the students are obliged to follow the university e-mail (use only university e-mail address (name.surname@student.upjs.sk) according to the Rector’s Order no. 12/2015!), the website and AiS2 (or the Faculty’s FB profile) for the duration of the special security measures.

The Dean´s order to adjust the schedule of the summer semester of the academic year 2019/2020 from 26 March 2020 applies.
Final theses:
1. The deadline for turning in the electronic versions of the final theses through the academic information system for bachelor degree and master degree students is April 30, 2020.

When turning in the printed and bound copy of the final thesis, students turn in two signed copies of the license agreement and an analytical letter as well.
3. If, due to restrictions imposed by the government in connection with COVID-19, there are obstacles to on-time processing of a bachelor or master thesis, the student may, in agreement with his / her supervisor, change the topic of his / her final thesis without a request form to start working on it using available data and materials. The supervisor of the thesis will change the title of the topic and the goals of the thesis in the academic information system, both in Slovak and English.
4. The deadline for turning in the diploma thesis for medicine students remains unchanged.
The guidelines for writing diploma theses from 6.5.2020 applies as well:
The content of the diploma thesis must be adapted to the current epidemiological situation. If no clinical research had been performed by the time the pandemic was declared, or other monitoring, or the case study had not been processed, it is necessary to focus the work on the theoretical part. The omission of the practical part should not be a reason to reduce the grade for the diploma thesis.
