On the evening of February 7, 2025, the luxurious premises of the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel in Košice, decorated to resemble ancient aesthetics, were filled with guests in marvellous gowns. The 13th annual Formal Gala of Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice was full of elegance and entertainment, and it was an exceptional year thanks to the attendance of Tomas Drucker, Minister of Education; Robert Zsembera, State Secretary for Higher Education and Academic Research; and Jan Hrinko, State Secretary for Research, Development, Youth, and Inclusion.
After the Rector of UPJŠ, Daniel Pella, and the minister of Education, Tomáš Drucker, addressed the attendees, the striking of a gong announced the official opening of the gala evening together with the first dance, performed by professionals from the Ellegance Dance Club. The hosting duo Junior and Marcel entertained the attendees with their wit and charm throughout the evening. Zuzana Smatanová, Tomáš Oravec’s Folk Music, and the Radical band provided the music. The main guest of the evening, the legendary singer and musician Michal David, set the dance floor on fire. The raffle is an inseparable part of the gala fun, and the UPJŠ gala was no exception. 19 prizes, for which we thank our sponsors, found new owners, and the evening continued to the rhythm of well-known dance tunes with exclusive gastronomic experiences.
