Representatives of Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice participated in the 2024 Summer University Games, which took place from 1 to 6 September in Bratislava and Trnava. Our students achieved excellent results and gained top positions in various sports disciplines. A total of 14 sports were competed in, with e-sports competitions being a novelty this year. Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice was represented by 13 UPJŠ students together with 4 female students from the University of Prešov, who represented our university at the University Games. Our athletes competed in athletics, swimming, basketball and 3×3 basketball. In athletics, Dominika Géciová from the UPJŠ Faculty of Law won the first place in the 400 m hurdles. Sarah Čajbíková from the Faculty of Science won three second places in swimming in the 50 m and 100 m breaststroke, as well as in the 50 m freestyle. The basketball players finished in the 3rd place overall, as well as in the 3×3 basketball competition. The men also competed in 3×3 basketball, where they won the tournament and took the top spot on the winners’ podium.
