The new management of UPJŠ in Košice begins its term of office

On Monday, 21 August 2023, Rector Pavol Sovák and the university management appointed by him officially ended their term of office. On 22 August 2023 began the tenure of the new Rector of UPJŠ, prof. MUDr. Daniel Pella, PhD. On this occasion, the new Rector Pella presented letters of authorization for the performance of the agenda of Vice-Rectors to:

prof. MVDr. Monika Halánová, PhD. – Vice-Rector for Academic Qualifications and PhD Studies, and person in charge of representing the Rector in his absence;

prof. RNDr. Renáta Oriňaková, DrSc. – Vice-Rector for Science, Research and Grants;

Dr. h. c. prof. MUDr. Pavol Jarčuška, PhD. – Vice-Rector for Strategic Development and Investments;

JUDr. Ľudmila Elbert, PhD. – Vice-Rector for Undergraduate and Lifelong Learning;

Dr. h. c. prof. Mgr. Slávka Tomaščíková, PhD. – Vice-Rector for International Relations and Internationalization;

doc. Ing. Silvia Ručinská, PhD., University Professor – Vice-Rector for International Studies and Mobility.

The Rector also informed about the planned addition of two positions to the team of Vice-Rectors:
Vice-Rector for the Concept and Quality of Education;
Vice-Rector for Marketing, Public Relations, Culture, Arts and Sport.

The Rector also authorized Ing. Ivan Pezlar, DBA, MBA to perform the function of UPJŠ Quaestor.

Former members of the UPJŠ management were also invited to the first meeting of the new management of UPJŠ, on behalf of whom professor Sovák wished the new leadership much success and strength.

We would like to thank the former management for their hard work towards the progress of the university, and we congratulate the new members of the management and wish them much success in their responsible positions.
