Literary scholar, translator, and vice-dean of the UPJŠ Faculty of Arts, Professor Marián Andričík, PhD., received another prestigious award. On Monday, March 18, 2024, he received the 2023 Dominik Tatarka Award at the Pálffy Palace in Bratislava.
The expert jury, headed by the literary scholar, Professor Petr Zajac, DrSc., awarded his translation, calendar, notes, explanatory notes and afterword to Gary Snyder’s poetry selection Encounter with the Mountains (Modrý Peter, 2023).The Dominik Tatarka Award is one of the most prestigious literary awards in Slovakia. Since 1994, it has been awarded for an exceptional work that fulfils the humanistic traditions of Slovak culture and in this sense continues the spiritual legacy of Dominik Tatarka.
