The current results of the QS World University Rankings: EECA Region 2022 pointed to a significant shift in the Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice, which improved by 20 places compared to last year’s position and took an excellent 126th position. QS EECA University Rankings has been published since 2014, with assessment methods maintaining key global ranking indicators tailored to the region. According to the ranking, the evaluation of our alma mater by the consulting and advisory company Quacquarelli Symonds Limited took into account:
- Academic reputation
- Reputation of the university among employers
- Share of students per academic staff member
- Proportion of employees who have achieved the highest level of education in the field
- Number of citations in leading databases
- Number of theses at individual faculties
- The degree of international openness of research cooperation
- The attractiveness of the university for international academics
- The attractiveness of the institution for foreign students
- Web impact – efficiency of using new technologies
The best points were awarded to Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in the areas of attractiveness for foreign students (84.4 / 100), the degree of international openness of cooperation (75.7 / 100) and the number of academic theses at individual faculties (46.1 / 100).
