On Thursday, 30 January 2025, the first general assembly of the East Slovak Space Cluster was held. The cluster was established earlier this year, and its founding members are, in addition to Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice, the Technical University in Košice, the Institute of Experimental Physics of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, Deutsche Telekom IT Solutions and the Slovak Space Office (SARIO Agency). The cluster represents an important step in building a dynamic innovation ecosystem in space technologies in East Slovakia.

RNDr. Ivana Šišoláková, PhD, university associate professor from the Institute of Chemical Sciences of the Faculty of Science of the Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice, was elected to the Board of Directors of the East Slovak Space Cluster at its first General Assembly.
The strategic objectives of the cluster include:
▪️ Developing the space ecosystem in East Slovakia by actively linking academic institutions and industry to develop innovative and competitive products and services
▪️ Involvement of East Slovakia in international space projects, including cooperation with the European Space Agency
▪️Retaining and attracting talent and developing vocational training, thereby strengthening the region’s attractiveness for young professionals
▪️ Supporting innovative start-ups and companies that can find new opportunities in this dynamically growing sector
We are looking forward to the cooperation and new opportunities that the East Slovak Space Cluster creates by bringing together experts from academia, research and commerce!
