UPJŠ at APAIE 2025 in New Delhi

Dr. h. c. prof. Mgr. Slávka Tomaščíková PhD., Vice-Rector for International Relations, and Mgr. Július Rozenfeld, PhD., Assistant Professor from the Department of British and American Studies at the Faculty of Arts of UPJŠ, represented Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice at the APAIE 2025 International Fair in New Delhi, India. The main theme of the Asia-Pacific Association for International Education conference, held from 24 to 28 March 2025 at the modern IICC Convention and Exhibition Centre in the Dwarka area of New Delhi, was higher education of professionals for the future.

The participation of Slovak universities in APAIE 2025 was organized by the Ministry of Education, Research, Development and Youth of the Slovak Republic and funded through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan under the call “Support to Projects for Promotion of Higher Education Institutions Abroad” with the objective of:

➔ raising the profile of Slovakia in the field of higher education and strengthening international links and academic cooperation
➔ engaging Slovak institutions in the global academic scene, strengthening their internationalization, and increasing their competitiveness
➔ attracting and retaining talented students in the Slovak Republic

There was a great interest in information related to studying at UPJŠ in Košice at the Slovak national stand at the Asia-Pacific Association for International Education conference. During the event, our representatives had numerous bilateral meetings with representatives from universities in India, Taiwan, Malaysia, and other countries to present teaching and research at UPJŠ in Košice, and to explore interesting opportunities for cooperation.

During the conference, Vice-Rector Slávka Tomaščíková signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between UPJŠ in Košice and Manav Rachna University, which is recognized for its innovative approach to education and offers a wide range of Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD programmes in various fields, including engineering, management, law, education, and natural sciences.
