XFEL Administrative Director Nicole Elleuche and XFEL Scientific Director Serguei Molodtsov were officially welcomed at the Rector’s Office on Monday, October 14, 2024. The distinguished guests from Hamburg, where XFEL is based, were received by UPJŠ Rector, prof. MUDr. Daniel Pella; Vice-Rector for Strategic Development and Investments prof. Pavol Jarčuška; Dean of the UPJŠ Faculty of Science, assoc. prof. Roman Soták, and the chairman of the organizing committee of SFEL 2024, prof. Pavol Sovák, Rector of UPJŠ in 2015 – 2023.

The event was officially opened by the chairman Pavol Sovák, the participants were addressed by Karel Saksl from the Technical University of Košice, Serguei Molodtsov from European XFEL GmbH and vice-rector Pavol Jarčuška from UPJŠ.
