Literary scientist, translator, poet and university lecturer, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Arts at UPJŠ in Košice prof. PhDr. Marián Andričík, PhD has expanded his collection of prestigious awards for scientific research activities and doctoral studies.
The Committee of the Section for Artistic Translation of the Literary Fund has recognised his work again – for the second time in a short period with the Ján Hollý Prize for 2022, for his translation of John Milton’s work Paradise Regained, Samson Agonistes (Modrý Peter, 2022). The same prize was awarded to Prof. M. Andričík two years ago for his translation of John Milton’s biblical epic Paradise Lost (Modrý Peter, 2020), for which he was also awarded the prestigious Crystal Wing.
The Ján Hollý Prize has been awarded since 1967 and it is the highest award for translation work of artistic literature in Slovakia. This year, the ceremony took place on 27 September in Bratislava and, in addition to prof. M. Andričík a prize was also awarded to the publishing house Modrý Peter, which published both the award-winning Slovak translations of works by J. Milton.
