The UPJŠ delegation led by rector Pavol Sovák and vice-rector for informatization and quality management Gabriel Semanišin took part in the annual EIT Digital conference #GROWDIGITAL23, which took place at the beginning of June in Brussels.
EIT Digital was established in 2010 as one of the first EIT KICs (Knowledge and Innovation Communities). It is currently one of the largest digital innovation ecosystems in Europe, focusing on digital entrepreneurship, innovation, talent support and digital skills development. At UPJŠ in Košice, activities related to EIT Digital are covered primarily by the Department of Informatics at the Faculty of Science. Among the first implemented projects is the InnoChange project, the results of which were presented at the IVAP workshop. More info here.
“We are living in a period of unprecedented pace of technology development and their application in various areas of life. A significant revolution is caused by generative artificial intelligence, great expectations are associated with quantum computing, DNA computing, new progressive materials. New technologies and innovations require a change in our approach to higher education education and, above all, intensive cooperation within the pan-European ecosystem. Therefore, we are very happy to be members of EIT Digital and have the opportunity to actively participate in all its activities.” vice-rector Semanišin commented on the importance of membership in EIT Digital.
