Similarily to last year, UPJŠ improved and received 7 “A” grades. When analysing the ratings across the domains, UPJŠ is the best rated in Research. In this area, UPJŠ was rated excellent in the ratio of publications to students, in the ratio of publications to academic staff, in the number of freely available publications, and in the ratio of authors to authors. In view of the Gender Equality Plan adopted in 2022, the last indicator is positive news, as according to the ranking, UPJŠ has up to 44.02% female authors of professional publications.

The analysis of the “A” ratings for indicators in other areas confirms UPJŠ’s strong position within Research. In the area of International Orientation, UPJŠ was rated excellent in the proportion of publications that were published in collaboration with at least one author or author from abroad. Similarly, in the area of Regional Engagement, UPJŠ is rated as actively collaborating with authors and authors from the region. In International Orientation, UPJŠ was rated ‘B’ for the proportion of study programmes offered in English at the first level of study and ‘C’ for the proportion of study programmes at the second level of study.

Considering the rankings it achieved in individual areas, UPJŠ was ranked 496th among universities from all over the world, 13th among the V4 countries, 5th among universities from the Czech Republic and Slovakia, and retained 2nd place in Slovakia. Globally and within Europe, UPJŠ has improved compared to last year.
