“Folklore is our love“
The Hornád Folk Ensemble is part of the Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice, and thanks to its more than 50-year tradition it belongs to the leading ensembles in Slovakia. The main aim of the ensemble is to maintain the dance and music traditions of Eastern Slovakia and to look for new ways of their interpretation and stage presentation.
The Hornád Folk Ensemble has provided a possibility for the youth in Košice to actively maintain the traditions and to participate in the folklore events in Slovakia for more than 50 years. The folk ensemble has been working under the auspices of the Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice since 2011.
