The mixed choir was unofficially established in October 30th, 2014, when its founding members met for the first time. It was officially established by the Rector’s Decision nr. 21/2014 in December 10th, 2014 and it uses the official CHUŠ abbreviation.
The authors of the name of the choir are Dr.h.c. Prof. PhDr. Ján SABOL, DrSc. and Doc. PhDr. František ŠIMON, CSc. CHUŠ is a university choir, and it focuses on university performances mainly, but it represents the university in Košice and in other locations as well.
The choir has 29 members, divided into individual voices: Soprano 1, Soprano 2, Alto 1, Alto 2, Tenor 1, Tenor 2, Bass 1 and Bass 2. It consists mainly of the employees and students of the university, but it has 5 external members as well.
The choir is led by Mgr. Jana Havrilová, the content and the form of the texts are supervised by doc. PhDr. Marianna Sedláková, PhD.
