Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice participated in the Aurora Alliance fall biannual, which took place from 16 to 19 October 2023 in Olomouc, Czech Republic. The biannual resulted in the signing of a joint memorandum by the member universities of the Alliance.
On behalf of UPJŠ, the memorandum was signed by the Vice-Rector for Internationalization, Assoc. Ing. Silvia Ručinská, PhD.
The memorandum symbolizes the united commitment of all Aurora Alliance members in building structures that aim to support research and innovation. Alliance members have stressed the need for deeper collaboration to strengthen their position as research universities and contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Joint efforts and commitment in this area promise to have a positive impact on the future of education and research. At the same time, we look forward to further cooperation with our partners at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam within our work group.
As part of the Alliance’s annual event, meetings were held on specific topics of importance to the Alliance and on the ongoing Euridice project linking several partner universities. The discussions on the implementation of the Euridice project were attended by prof. PaeDr. Martin Pekár, PhD., who is the project leader for UPJŠ.
